Last year, the HBA of Tulsa started a new group specifically to attract and cultivate leadership among HBA members 40 and under. Led by Erin DeWeese and Cahn Wiggs, this group has established a calendar of events for 2014 that among other things includes member participation in a Tulsa Habitat for Humanity event, Brush With Kindness, that provided exterior rehab assistance in disadvantaged neighborhoods. 

Jeff Smith chaired the Building Renovation Capital Campaign that raised more than $250,000 to refurbish the HBA headquarters. Bids recently closed and review is under way. Construction is expected to begin in mid-summer.

Exhibitor booths at the 2014 Home & Garden Show were sold out with more than 36,000 visitors attending over its four-day run.This was the second-highest attended Show in 10- years.

Planning is under way for the Parade of Homes with 156 homes entered and three subdivisions featured. The annual HBA golf tournament is scheduled at Forest Ridge Golf Club on May 2 The HBA Charitable Foundation Gala -- Appetite for Construction II is scheduled for May 6. Last year's event raised more than $20,000, which benefits philanthropic causes identified by the HBA Charitable Foundation.

Rogers County Builder Association

Rogers County recently completed a successful Home & Garden Farm & Ranch Show and is now making plans for its May 9 golf tournament at Heritage Hills.

Bartlesville Home Builders Association

The Bartlesville Executive Officer reports that the local market is stable and builders are building, which is considered good news. The association meets the first Tuesday of each month at Sterling's Restaurant.
