The OSHBA has a new affiliated professional group known as the Oklahoma State Remodelers Council. The Remodelers Council was recently established with Glen Hunter, area manager of RGP Construction Group of Tulsa, elected as its first President.

Other officers are, Vice President, Vic Vickers, CEO of Handymen R' Us of Oklahoma City; Treasurer, John Baker, owner of J&L Construction and Remodeling of Edmond; and Secretary Steve Mohr, owner of Mohr Construction of Norman.
Membership in the Remodelers Council is limited to companies that have a proven track record of financial responsibility, technical competence and have demonstrated fair dealings with the public. They also must be members of the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association.
In addition, members in the Remodelers Council must meet the following criteria:

Carry general liability insurance coverage;

Be pre-screened by the Better Business Bureau;

Have been in business for at least one year;

Provide professional and personal references from clients and/or subcontractors; and

Abide by a code of ethics and professional standards.
The Remodelers Council meets monthly at the OSHBA headquarters, 917 NE 63, Oklahoma City.
