First, a big thank you to all who responded to last week's Call to Action. Because of your efforts, SB 1475 overwhelmingly passed and is on its way to the Governor's desk. This bill will prevent an overreach by the courts to extend "bad faith" from insurance to warranties and contracts.

Work continues on the floor of both houses. This coming Thursday is our last "deadline." If a bill has not made it through both houses (House of Representatives and the Senate) then it is dead for the session. A bill can make it through both and still not go to the Governor because there is a difference between the House and Senate versions. The bill then goes to conference committee. Of course, the final deadline is the end of session!

We still have a few of our bills still waiting for floor action this coming week. Be prepared to respond to our Call to Action if one is issued. It means a lot. I will tell you a short story as to why it means a lot.

During our Capitol visit last month, we had the opportunity to visit with Senator Burrage from Claremore. He mentioned that since he has been a legislator there have been 1310 votes (don't hold me to exact number) and that he had voted in 1309. (He can't remember the one vote he missed.) Out of those 1309 votes, he heard from his constituents on 9 of them. 9! So you see, your one email can make a huge difference!
