Good morning, I've really enjoyed reading recent newspaper articles that are positive for a change. Also, thanks to many of you for helping to promote our association. And be

sure to join us for our next PAC event (Sporting Clay in Guthrie next Wednesday) which is my favorite. I've always enjoyed shooting and really look forward to seeing all of you there. Bring a friend!! Let's get started....
In recent weeks the news for Oklahoma seems to have turned a little more positive for the Housing Industry and the feeling of everyone in my recent meetings has been much better for 2012. Nationally 23 markets show an improvement compared with only 12 last month (with Texas having seven of these markets) but still the strongest gains are in multi-family.
Hosea said "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Knowledge seems to be one of the things that tie us all together and for most of us the reason for getting up in the morning. The daily challenge to learn something more that will make us better people or just improve the quality of our homes is ever present. I've always said what we learn (no matter how insignificant) will be beneficial to us. The ability or inability to transfer that knowledge can be one of the most important assets. Have we done the best we can to help other builders understand the knowledge gained from being a member? How can we best transfer the knowledge to our customers to the importance of being Certified? How can we convey the message to our customers to the importance of energy efficiency and how our homes have the most value for their investment? These are just a few of the questions we're faced with on a daily basis. To make it even more challenging the answer to the above questions can be different each year and to each individual but with the knowledge we gain from being a member there can be a noticeable difference. So what will you do in the next few days to invite someone new to join our association?
At the bottom of this e-news is more information about our Sporting Clay tournament. The proceeds benefit our state's PAC and with an election year next year, we need to be prepared. This is the most fun you will have in giving money for politics!
Proverbs 2:10-11 (NIV)
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.

Sporting Clay PAC Tournament
We will be holding our annual Sporting Clay Tournament on November 16! This tournament is held at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports near Guthrie. It is just a short drive north of Oklahoma City. You don't need to be an expert and you don't even need your own shotgun. They have some you can rent or you can share with your teammate. Many people call Sporting Clays "golf with a shotgun." But from experience you don't get nearly as frustrated if you miss! For more information clickhere. Or you can download the attached flyer!
