Good morning on this crisp Southern Oklahoma morning. Temperatures finally cooled but rain is still very much needed, especially in my area. Cool weather is just as hard for me as the warming of spring causing spring fever.

Michael Herndon,
2011 OSHBA President
Cool weather causes my mind to wander to the beautiful first light on a fall morning with several does around and the hope of that big buck or the Colorado mountain mornings with the bugling music of the bull elk. The talking of the animals is always only a small part of the enjoyment of God's creation.
I attended the Green Building Summit last week and wow has it grown. Joe was his usual entertaining self (why green, what's green, "it's the energy stupid"). We had excellent speakers and I really enjoyed hearing from Lt. Governor Todd Lamb. Oh, our own Todd (Todd Booze) did an excellent job also and deserves thanks for all the hard work. If you missed this year be sure and plan for next, I hear there is planning and ideas already taking place for even a better and more educational summit.
Well the fall board is almost here, it's hard to believe the year is coming to a close. Still lots to do but most of all we need to continue to remember to share with everyone what OSHBA does for the industry and continue to bring our fellow builders into the fold. The more I'm involved the more I see the importance of our association and I believe it can be the same with most. So let's continue to spread the word (OSHBA is very important to our industry.)

In Memoriam
Last week saw the passing of long time homebuilder and developer Joe Davis. Joe had been a member of COHBA since the mid 50's and was State President in 1995. Joe was a NAHB Life Director. Our condolences go out to his family.
