President OSHBA
It's a busy month with all of the various local installations that we, as officers, are attending, along with our own locals' events that often happen around Christmas. One of my favorite aspects of serving as an officer for OSHBA is getting to go out to the various local associations to experience their General Membership meetings and new officer installation. It's exciting to see how other locals operate, to shake hands with numerous members I'm meeting for the first time, and of course, to help swear in the next generation of leaders for both that local and OSHBA. Sharing the story of OSHBA's year of progress is also a passion of mine, so getting to speak before the locals is something I get really excited about, as well.
Last last week I had the opportunity to join the Southwest OK HBA in Lawton for their annual installation dinner, as well as to speak to them about the latest developments at the OSHBA and NAHB level. It was wonderful company to be among, and it was exciting to get to install their new board and President.
December will also be a busy month as we move towards OSHBA's own Installation event on January 10th at the COHBA Headquarters. While I'm saddened that my term as President will be coming to an end, I couldn't be more optimistic about the slate of fine leaders taking the helm next year, led by President-Elect, Todd Booze. I've learned a lot from him and VP-Elect, Phil Rhees, and know that our newest ladder inductee Kurt Dinnes will bring tremendous leadership and business experience to the organization.
There are great times ahead for OSHBA and our industry!
