State Associates Counsel

The State Associates Council are OSHBA members who are not builders, remodelers or developers. Instead they own or work for firms or corporations engaged in a trade, industry or profession related to homebuilding. Members of the council include, but are not limited to, salespeople, marketing professionals, realtors and insurance brokers. The Council works alongside the Board of Directors and staff in accomplishing the goals of OSHBA. Their top activities include implementing the annual golf tournament and the annual convention. The 2011 chair is Casey Felix with Central National Bank in Enid. Casey is a past president of the Enid Home Builders Association.

Associate members from all of the various local associations are encouraged and welcomed to assist the council in growing the industry. The State Associates Council meets about three times a year so it is not a time consuming commitment.

The 2011 Annual Golf tournament is yet to be scheduled, so check back later in the spring. It is anticipated this will be held in early Fall. Steve Sayers is the chairman of the 2011 Golf Tournament Committee.

The OSHBA State Convention, July 14-16 at the Choctaw Casino in Durant, OK. The Choctaw Casino is a new facility and features a national award winning pool. It is just minutes away from Lake Texoma. More details will be coming soon about the convention. However, the convention has started a new tradition of being an education bonanza and a great time to network with fellow builders and associates. The Council is active in sponsoring a "table-top" night (where vendors can show their products) as well as conducting the annual silent auction that has helped fund several scholarships across Oklahoma.

The State Associates Council for 2011: Donna Cullins, Secretary; Terry Jennings, Vice-Chair; Casey Felix, Chair; Jose Laboy, Immediate Past Chair; and Vanessa Shadix, Treasurer. The State Associates Council is an important asset to the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association.
