Association of Realtors GREEN Designation will help them better serve their clients, while simultaneously helping the environment and increasing their own bottom lines. Going green means more "green," if you know what I mean!
At this year's Oklahoma Green Building Summit Sept. 27 a special track has been designed for the folks on the front lines of home sales: Realtors. The Summit is sponsored by the
Oklahoma State Home Builders Association, the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of Realtors Green Resource Council, Guaranteed Watt Saver Systems and the Association of Energy Engineers/Oklahoma chapter.

NAR's Green Designation provides advanced training in green building and sustainable business practices so that you can seek out, understand, and market properties with green features.
How can Oklahoma Realtors get started?
Enter Summit speaker Bob Hart, possibly the greenest of the green. Hart has been a real estate broker for more than 20 years and has always had a passion for teaching. He is past president of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors and is currently on the board of directors of the California and national associations.
His nights and weekends are spent remodeling homes with loads of energy-efficient features.
Hart has chaired the Green Task Force for California Association of Realtors, served on the Global Climate Change Policy Presidential Advisory Group for National Association of Realtors and serves as NAR's executive branch advocate to the U.S. Department of Energy. He's also on the board of directors of the California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services, and is an instructor for the NAR Green Designation Course.
For his efforts he has been awarded the President's Award from California Realtors and the Distinguished Service Award from the NAR Green Resource Council.
He and his wife, "walk the walk" by living a very "Green" lifestyle. From his personal experiences and his depth of knowledge, Hart not only explains energy- efficient construction and how Realtors can utilize this knowledge to enhance their careers, but he also shows his students how to save hundreds of dollars per year through energy and resource efficiencies.
Many of his students have told him that his course was a "life changing event" for them. Becoming a Green Realtor is a three-step process - Hart's session takes you a third of the way there!
