"Mike Means, the executive vice president of the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association, spoke about the importance of getting new members, as well as the reasons people should join the association. He equated a home buyer purchasing from an association member to seeing a doctor who is a part of the American Medical Association, noting that one wouldn't want to purchase a home from someone who isn't part of a professional organization any more than one would want to see a doctor who didn't belong to the AMA. Perkins also spoke about how the housing market is affecting the economy.
