Bill Rhees
Acclamations across the miles were sent to longtime Tulsa home builder Bill Rhees Friday night via his son, Phil Rhees, during the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association annual banquet.
OSHBA honored Bill Rhees as "Builder of the Year. Rhees, founder and partner with his son, Phil Rhees in BMI Properties, has been a member of the OSHBA for almost 40 years.
Phil accepted the honor on behalf of his father, who was unable to attend because of ill health.
"Bill Rhees is a most deserving recipient of this award. I am proud to know him and consider him a dear friend." Said executive director Paul Kane of Greater Tulsa Home Builders Association.
Joe Robson, past NAHB president from Broken Arrow, describes Rhees as a caring man who helped implement the ethics program instituted by the Tulsa Home Builders Association.
A past president of the Home Builders of Tulsa, Bill Rhees has served as a board member of that organization for more than a quarter of a century and has been chair of the state's insurance committee.
Bill Rhees also was named 1998 Tulsa Builder of the Year, awarded the Master Builder designation by the National Home Builders Association and is a three-time Tulsa Spirit Award winner.
